The old school meets the new school in the classic disagreement of progress in an extremely traditional and conservative industry. While consumers cry out for the “tech savvy” agents, the agents that “get it” are few and far between, and many are being beaten back by the “old school” of a large number of big brokerages.

If your brokers eyes glaze over when you mention the new clients you got from Facebook, or your mental image of an real estate agent using social media is someone posting Cat meme’s all day long, it’s time to think again. Understand how your time spent wisely, selectively and consistently on the various social media platforms will help build your market expertise when you focus on the micro-local (forget hyper-local, micro-local is neighborhood/community level).

Why should you use social media if you are a real estate agent? It matters. Maya Paveza will share the ways it matters most – to your bottom line, how to manage your time, and how to get the best return on your time invested. Consistency is the key and just like any other business building measure you have to be willing to do the work to get the return. Nothing is instant, nothing is easy, it take hard work but if you want to own the market you need to be there first. It’s the new frontier.

Eric Stegemann will share useful tips to make your website better for gaining leads and traffic. He will ask for volunteers (you must be on telephone connection not computer audio) to talk about their websites and how they can make them better.

Learn how to shoot top quality video using your iPad. Mark Passerby, of HD Hat, will share how to use your iPad for listing, interview, and general videos that look like they were produced with expensive equipment. Mark will also share apps that will make life using your iPad for Video a lot easier.
